It's been a busy past two weeks, but THINK AND WONDER is moving right along and coming to shape. After painting, I began screwing in light bulbs and got about halfway through (approx 2000 bulbs) by myself. Last night I had a "Light Bulb Screwing Party" where a group of AWESOME friends came by to lend a hand. We finishing lighting every single letter! In the meantime, one of my install assistants, Frank Haehnel, built a beautiful custom rack which will go on the back of his pickup truck for transport of the letters down to the bridge. It will take us about 10 trips to get everything from the University to the Stone Arch. Install starts on Monday- stay tuned for on-site updates!

Less than two weeks until install happens down on the bridge which means lots of testing before then. Were you wondering how I was going to get giant letters over the side of the bridge? This is how! I hired my fantastic friend Yousif Delvalle to weld together a 15' custom "crane" that fits into the back of my SUV. On the top is a chain hoist, which we will use to raise the letter above the bridge railing, and then lower the letter into position while we securely clip it into place. Good news- it works!

In my class "Drawing Using Digital Media as an Essential Tool", my students had to create some sort of "book" for their final. These are some of the fantastic projects they came up with.
