ISCA 2012

I just spent the last week in San Antonio, TX for the annual International Society of Caricature Artists Convention. As always, it was a week full of drawing, friends and inspiration. Here are some photos of the drawings I did over the last 4 days.

State Fare at the Robbin Gallery

I submitted this piece I call State Fare to the Extremely Minnesota show at the Robbin Gallery, in Robbinsdale, MN (mostly because of the name!) It got in, so it's on display from Nov. 10 - Dec. 15. It's routed HDU, latex and acrylic paint and of course, string lights. Inspired by many summers working at and attending fairs around Minnesota.

Custom Routed Piece

One of my highest-paying Kickstarter donors requested a custom piece for his reward. The parameters were 22" x 30", beach-themed, kitschy and no lighthouses. This is what I came up with. It's routed out of HDU sign foam and painted with a mixture of acrylic and latex.

Election Time Caricatures

As the big election is upon us (and the ISCA convention is just a week away!), I thought I'd do some themed caricatures.
