The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side

This sofa is inspired perfectly by its name. Made by designer Christian Vivanco, it can be used as a day bed or casual couch. While it comes in a variety of colors, the green wins for me. Maybe I should DIY my own version of this...

The Letter "J"

I am slowly but surely finishing all my Kickstarter rewards for the backers of my project, THINK AND WONDER, WONDER AND THINK. My friend John lives out in Seattle and LOVES his Camaro. I painted this giant 12" letter "J" magnet just for him.

Tom Luckey

This morning I came across this article on the PS1 MoMA Blog, which celebrates the work of the late Tom Luckey. His magical and beautiful climbers exist in children's museum's, malls and marketplaces across the country. How did I miss climbing on one of these as a child??? New Studio!

I recently moved and finally have an entire room to use as my studio/office! Here are some snapshots of my new space. Of course, bigger work will still be made at Regis Center for Art.

$99 Sale at the Soap

Last night was the $99 sale at The Soap Factory, an annual fundraiser where artists donate 8" x 10" works which are then sold for $99 each. My piece is somewhere on this wall, can you guess which one it is? I'll give you a was made using the CNC router.

Coinciding with the $99 Sale was Andy Ducett's ongoing exhibition (runs Sept. 8 - Nov. 11), "Why We Do This." It is a truly amazing show that overtakes the entire space, which if you know the Soap, is HUGE! Here are some snapshots from my favorites parts. If you get a chance, I highly recommend seeing this one for yourself while it's up.

This sort of looks like my dad's basement.

Fake moving sky with turf to lay on.

Christmas trees and fake snow wrapped in plastic.

Giant Battleship? Yes please!

From the other side.

Hallway of white balloons and bubble wrap.

Swing solo.

Vintage airplane.

Wall of National Geographics.

Fake swimming pool with b-ball hoop.

BDS Laundry Caricatures

I spent the last two days drawing caricatures for BDS Laundry's huge customer appreciation event. I was so busy drawing that I forgot to take a lot of pictures. However, I managed to get a few.
