Sauerkraut Days Chalk Drawing 2012

Last year the local church in Henderson, MN asked me to draw a funny version of The Last Supper for Sauerkraut Days. This year, they invited me back to draw "The Creation of Adam"...with Frank's Kraut of course! This one took me 3.5 hours.

The Work of Merijn Hos

Merijn Hos is an incredible illustrator and visual artist based in Urtrecht, The Netherlands. I love his drawings, illustrations and graphic design just as much as I enjoy his sculptures and installations (both in galleries and out in the world). He even did some work for Yo Gabba Gabba! Definitely an artist who is right up my alley.

A True Success

All the letters are down, just a day before my birthday! Here are some fantastic photos from their time up last week (photo credits go out to Mill City Times).
Saturday night was Northern Spark and with some 40,000+ visitors it was a huge success! I got to enjoy the night and explore the city with my boyfriend and my sister. I even met Mayor R.T. Rybak!
I also got my fair share of press in local papers, blogs, radio and news- here are just a few:
Northern Spark Lights Up Downtown Minneapolis - CBS Minnesota
Northern Spark: Think and Wonder - Star Tribune Video
Northern Spark Feature - Culture Queue, RadioK

June Grad Party Caricatures

When I'm not hanging giant letters across bridges, I'm staying up past my bedtime to draw caricatures of graduating high school seniors. Here are some of my favorites from the last two events.

Giant Light Switch

Every giant bridge with illuminated lights needs a giant ceremonial light switch! I made this 4' tall switch for the opening event of "flipping the switch" on the bridge letters. It even has magnets inside so when it's turned "on" it stays up. One lucky raffle winner got to bring it home!

It's DONE!

It was a long, exhausting week of install with many setbacks due to the wind, but my AMAZING crew pushed through and we pulled it all together just hours ago. THINK AND WONDER, WONDER AND THINK is officially complete! These are some photos from our week out on the bridge, more photos of the whole thing to come soon. Thanks again to all of my supporters for helping me make this project happen and make sure to stop by the bridge any night this week until Northern Spark on June 9-10 to check it out!
